Guess those Guys are still out there yelling

:director:  " BoBBy!!!!!  :smt101"   Frigging Hallario us......   :smt044

I had to jam early at about 12ish with the Heat poring on....

Live smelt were the ticket, I fed a few to the Butts with no return, and Hooked up on my faithful

Anchovy storm, but alas, lost in the end....

Visual show gos to Ariel Sea with a 4 to 5' Ariel display of a nice butt coming unbutton in midair,

Right in front of his face, Ariel is Redeemed with a nice 27"...

InsaneDuane had " 2 in the Box " on my departure,

and Reelentless has a Release on a 14" Lingcod  :smt108

I'm sure there will be more Tall Tales to follow.....

 my camera lost power so,

all I have is a archive shot of my now famous Wild Anchovy swim bait who was my star today,

 Other than " BoBBy!!!!!  :smt101"............  :smt044

Launched out with the gang around 530am. Hooked up on the butt around 7am' fish hit my smelt hard, fought hard, and finally tooks its leap for freedom right in front of my face. Hook came unbuttoned in mid-air. I think I actually saw the fish flipping me off. Looked to be in the 22"-23" range.

Hooked up on the second butt an hour or so later down at the end of the old pier. Fish gave a good hard fight. Brought him up to the surface and saw he was a decent size. Got him into the net and he went buck wild. I subdued him with a couple good whacks of the steel gaff then stabbed him in the face with the gaff. Hali measured in at 27".

It was a beautiful day out. Morning started out chilly and breezy. Sun shining down on us and seas settled down from then on iy was nice and toasty.

InsaneDuane caught 2 nice fish I think they both came in at 24".

"BOBBY's friend.......ARRGGGHHH" was hooking up on fish left and right. That dude is an amazing fisherman. Very loud and animated. They were chattering up the radio in the meanwhile playing cat and mouse with the DFG. I invited BOBBY and friend to Shelter Cove & Albion. Should be entertaining.

Nice, real nice. WTG Ariel and the rest of you. What was Bobbys successful tactic that resulted in so many take downs? Luck?

OK OK I'm up now after 3 hours sleep Saturday night when I got home I think I was a sleep at 630pm. :smt015

so I got 2 more halibut's two 24's so that's 3 trips and 5 halibut's looks like it will be a good year. :smt007

I tell you I was as nice as it gets out there I was down to shorts and a life jacket by 11am
defiantly a 50 sunblock day.

so we launched at 6am on the dot and me and Dave paddle in at 445pm it was a long day but a good one.  :headbang:

OK guys listen to this that last wind storm tookout about a 1/2 mile of the end of the old pier it's now underwater.
This is very bad because the pier was a great wind block + it helped to knock down the waves from the big boats.
And now it is just a madder of time before it is gone all together.  :smt010 I tried to find a shot from the air to show what
was lost but goggle earth don't show the end of the pier but I did take some pics.

check the them out.

WTG guys.  Dwayne, thanks for the info.  This is definately not good the pier pilings are gone.  The old pier made a nice guide for paddling next to.  Did you mark them on your fish finder or did they float away?

No they did not float away they are made of concrete you can see them on the bottom what happen was the wind blew one on to the
other and they just went down like dominoes but it should make for a nice reef later on.

I tell you this sucks I never thought so much would fall so fast could not imagine being out there that day
don't think you would last long.
