Decided to beat the heat and get a bit of a work out.  Went to China Camp around 3 pm to find the water had retreated from the shore exposing an epic amount of mud flat!   For some reason that didn't look great to me so I headed to Loch Lomond and launched to a calm bay.  Peddled straight out the channel to deep water, hung a right and went to the R/SR bridge.  Had a blast fishing amongst the bridge pilings at the very end of the outgoing tide.  Spotted lots of bait balls on the down river side and the grebes were working them hard.  Hooked one little 17 incher as I approched three shore fisherman at the foot of the bridge on the San Quentin side.  Worked around the Rod and Gun club a bit then cranked back with the new incoming tide.  Great day to be on the water!  The one fish hooked on a blue and silver Rat-L-Trap!
