I am looking for my first trip this weekend on sunday in the kayak.  I live in Elk Grove and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good launch spot that would be a good newbie spot but not a huge commute from Elk Grove as I only have about a hlf day..  Of course the chance to catch a bass would also be great!

I really am looking to get the boat wet for the first time.  What type of clothing are folks besides a PDF are folks wearing this time of year.  I was wondering if pants would do with the nice weather projected this weekend?

Thanks for the answers.  I appreciate it.

Delta Meadows. It's an easy launch and close to EG.

Have fun, Al

The CRP is nice too. Not sure how fast the rivers are flowing through there right now.
The Meadows would be easier for the first time out.
