I have chartered the 6 pack Doble out of Santa Cruz for albacore fishing this Saturday.  I may have 1 spot available.  If anyone is interested in going, send me a PM and I'll fill you in on the details.

As of now I have 4 angler, none from here.  I used to charter the Doble 2-3 times a year for tuna, but with being in Seattle this year, this is my only trip.  4 is the minimum I like because it's the same cost up to 4 people.  The boat can take 6, but 6 is too crowded IMO.  I like 5 as a good balance.  So I do have 1 spot left.  Cost is $250 (plus tip). The weather is looking iffy right now for Saturday, but that's a few days off still.  I'm hopeful.  If the weather offshore is too bad, we'll re-target to fish halibut inshore ($125).

Captain Gerry is THE tuna 6 pack charter IMO.  And he does very well on the fall halibut bite as well as you can see in the recent pictures (http://www.reelsportfishingsc.com/pictures.htm).  And from Bayside's front page ... an Opah the boat got last Sunday on a trip offshore.  Beautiful fish.

BTW, did you all hear about the striped marlin caught up here in WA a week and a half ago.  Pretty rare!!!

Oddly enough, I had a trip that I schedule back in March on the Doble for Saturday 24 Sep.  Two of my four buddies had to bail because of job related trips.  As a result I had to cancel the trip with Captain Gerry.  He still has two of us on his books for the 24th and if he can get two more people the trip would be on.

If your trip gets can celled or if there is any other people out there that want to put the hurt on some albacore, please give Captain Gerry a call.  Tell him Dan sent you (and I'll see you Saturday).

Got blown out today.  It was 15 knots at the buoy at 6 this morning.  Headed up the coast in search of halibuts, but this big south swell has made a mess of the water.  Fished out way up to Davenport before being driven back by the winds.  No butts, no lings, and only a couple of small blues to show for our day.

Gerry mentioned the cancellations on Saturday.  I'm contemplating it, but this is the same day as Mendo.  What to do, what to do?  I've yet to make it offshore for tuna this year so that's really calling me right now.

Girlfriend says we have to be in Cazadero this weekend, so no SC tuna for me.  But  ... I got the OK to join the group at Mendo for the FULL day on Saturday.  Just registered.
