Saw that today and it should be pretty cool once it opens up. The main issue is that it is still a 4 mile paddle to the bay proper. I have no idea how the fishing will be in the channel out though, so maybe you would not have to paddle all the way to the bay. The tides can be brutal as well, I don't think I would want to paddle in against an outgoing tide. There is also a ton of trash flowing out of the Guadalupe.

Having said all that, it will be a nice option for us southbayers, that launch is 10 minutes from my house.

At least it will give us access for clean ups!

I've long wanted to explore that area with kayak...  That's a trippy area with some interesting history.

Very cool. I have launched in Palo Alto and its a bit of a haul but I have always pulled rays and leopards. The 4 mile paddle will be a bitch if the wind is blowing in your face.

Hi Yakers:

I worked in Alviso and would do the Nature walks. I hope
for the best but, the area is of mixed use. I'm not sure
of the Water quality up stream, anyone know? I looks
like a place ot get bogged down in quagmire! :smt044
