C&R'd over 30 stripers, all but one were dinks. I launched at about 5 pm to pristine conditions. I shot over to a spot where I got a lot of hits last week on the buzzbait. First cast with the buzzbait got a huge blow up but a miss and that was it. I shot around to different spots throwing a senko and got one lmb about a pound and a half. By now it was already 6:30 and dark is coming. Decided to troll two rods, and thats where the action started. Lots and lots of dinks, one after another. Couldn't keep my rod in the water for more then 5 minutes before another one. No size, I got bored with the dinks and decided to use my medium light finesse rod to troll and give these guys a shot. 8 pound mono. And guess what happens? Reel starts screaming, uh oh, this ones not a dink! After 20 minutes of battling the fish I finally get it in the net. 29" striper just over 8 pounds. 8:45 pm, time to head in, with lightning flashing and the rain starting, I didn't want to risk my life over a good bite.

WTG Jeff... where there are small ones... there are big ones. Hitting up the usual spots on the Delta??? I need some of that action.

Nice action video.  Thanks for the report Jeff.  Maybe time to invest in a "night vision" video camera  :smt003

I was in the area I drop by to see what Jeff was up to. Man it was nice out there. No wind, smooth current, life just bursting all over the place. Fish were jumping out of the water and lots of cormarants diving and coming up with fish. Even saw a corm trying to swallow an injured 1 to 2 pound bass. Bass was on its side and couldn't swim down.

I was bummed I didn't have my kayak. It was the perfect evening. I'm glad you were out there Jeff in the middle of the perfect bite.

Cool pictures and video action of the striper battle Jeff. I felt like I was
