Thanks to Scallen for scouting the area on Saturday.  I was set on going Sunday.  So..., I went a little further up to start with.  I worked outside of the boardwalk and up to the Dream Inn in 40 to 55 feet.  Live sardines the entire time, nothing.  Amazing.  Lots of bait in the area.  Water temp was 48.5 to 49 and the up-and-out current was pretty strong.

I decided to go into the shallows so I worked back toward the harbor.  As I approached Twin Lakes beach, the birds were working, hundreds of them.   I stopped, in 40 feet, water temp 50.  Lots of bait in this area too, I fished until noon, nothing.  It was nice to be out and the weather was beautiful.

Wow, the water was calm. BTW, did you catch your bait first or was it purchased
from the bait store? Thanks for the report. At least you were out trying. Good
luck on your next fishing trip.

I bought my bait from Botchi Boy.  I have a live bait tank.  I changed out often so there was always a lively bait down there.

Thanks witness. Just curious, how much does the live sardines cost? Around here
in Berkeley, what we call pier scoop of live anchovies cost $15 dollars.

Bocci sells a half scoop for 20 and a full scoop for 30.

We don't take anywhere near a half scoop, so I usually give him a 10, when he lets me pay.

It 's worth it he really takes good care of his bait, he is the man.

Witness----WTG, man, you really worked the area well.  Looks like the temp is coming up?  50 dgrees by the hargor?  It will happen and it will be soon I hope!
