I have been taking my oc drifer to the lake to get used to diving off of it before i head out to the ocean. I have one question. When i anchor is the brackets that i clip my paddle to strong enough to tie the anchor off to. If not how do you guys tie off your anchor rope?

Thanks for you adivce.

Probably better to tie off to the bow so your kayak faces the waves I use the handles.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I would tie a loop of bunjee cord around anything you secure your anchor to prevent the hard tugging from the swells. (your basically using the bunjee as a shock absorber)...

just my 2 cents...

Or, make yourself a bowline.  tie it to the front handle and slack to the side handle with an overhand loop knot.  Your anchor line can slide up the bowline on an overhand loop, once you determine how much line you are putting down.  Keep a tag end in the cockpit so you can retireve the anchor line.

Also another good accessory is about 18-24" of chain at the anchor to prevent the rocks from cutting your anchor line while diving.
