Im looking at a new Ride 135 at Kayak City in Sacramento.  They have a couple of 09's on display.  I noticed that on the right side of the cockpit on the outside are what looks like two separate places where screws might have been but upon closer inspection theirs plastic covering the holes so it looks like its something that was molded in to the boat.  When you walk up to the right side of the boat and look at it , it just looks like two screws are missing????  The sales guy just blew it off when I asked about it.  The boat is being sold as new and not with a blem.  As a newbie and this being my first boat purchase ($950 without a rudder), I obviously don't want to get screwed. :smt012

If you're looking for a Ride I know Sunrise (?) in Livermore had a few.  I was talking to Kim from there via ebay and said they have a few of last years model of the Ride 135 available for pretty good prices.  Call him at 925-447-8330, maybe he can make you a deal.  Was a pretty nice guy and knowledgeable when I spoke with him.

Was this a rudder or non-rudder version? What you may be describing is the area in the mold where they run the rudder line on ruddered yaks. They are part of the mold on all WS boats (ruddered or not) and are not a blem.

If the guy had no clue I wouldn't by a Boat from him
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I think Aaron nailed this one. If your looking for a Ride 135 keep looking. The guy obviously doesn't know his product and at $950 he's not giving you a good deal either. Take your time and you will find the right one.
