Hooks up with AlshobieoutBack around 6:30 on Saturday.

Paddled out around the end of the wharf looking for baitfish. Didn't get the intel from scallen via email until after we got back. Allen was right all the bait left on Friday.

Alshobie and I paddled to the cment ship in about 25 feet of water on what was an awesome day. The wind was still and the swell was about a foot.

Caught one little olive and released successfully.
The only thing that made the slow fishing bearable was the awesome weather and the great company.
The wind picked up on schedule and we got a great workout back to Capitola.
No fish but always a great day with friends on the water.

If you don't try , you'll never know. Good report. Good times are ahead. If we nailed em' every time it might get boring. Well maybe. :smt003

Thanks for the report stoggie. Hey Al, how are you liking your new ride on the
ocean? I have not tried my T13 yet because of the wind. Hopefully this Friday
when weather permits.

Al, what made you switch from a Hobie to a T13?

Sorry for the late update, but couldn't log in last night...

It was a *very* beautiful day out there, with glassy conditions and little to no wind for most of the day.  My second ocean trip out on the new T13, was fun to do a little shore launch/landing for practice.

We launched just after sunrise and went searching for bait that was not there.  Spied some birds off the kelp beds and thought we may have found some bait, but there was just a sea lion flipping a leopard shark in the air over and over and the birds were waiting around to have the leftovers.

Did a sloooooow troll to the cement ship and the wind picked up so we headed back in.  I got a bit swamped on the way back, the little waves just seemed to spill over the side and kept filling my foot wells with water.  Starting to think I should have gotten the T15...

Stopped off by the kelp and tied up to give the arms a little rest without being blown back to where we started.  Found a rose in the water...LoL!  Kept the rose and picked up some misc trash that was floating around the kelp beds :smt009

All in all, it was nice to be out on the water, fish or no fish.... It was a beauty of a day!

Hey Al, how are you liking your new ride on the ocean?
Jedmo
Well, like I said, I was getting a bit swamped out there and it was nice conditions...  It was really nice to go straight through the kelp without worry of snagging the fins or rudder.  Also nice to do a shore landing without worrying about the same.  Got to use my new Wheeeleezze too, and they worked great for going up and down that little path to the beach.
Al, what made you switch from a Hobie to a T13?
Not switch  :smt002  Additional!  I still love my Hobie!  But wanted something a bit less bulky and complicated for shore launching and ocean fishing.  So far, I like it a lot, but have some kinks to work out.
