Check out WalMart.  They carry nice long sleeve rash guard for only $11.88 compared to about $30 or more for other name brands. They're available in white, black, gray, blue, red, and orange.  They do run small --  I had to buy a XXL size.  I'm going back to get some more!

Joe - I sometimes use a breathable rain jacket for a dry top with pit zips ( to regulate temps - if it gets too hot)....unfortunately, the breathable rain jackets are usually $$....unless you can find a deal at REI or RedWood Trading Post in Redwood City.....

the nice thing about the breathable rain jackets is that you can use it ----when it rains (duh) ----or  you can use it when you want to stay top dry when you paddle....gotta love multi tasking gear  :smt023

I use the marmot....

Thank you sir, I just have a short sleeve dry top, which works most of the time, but I do get cold every once in a while.

FWIW, I too use a breathable jacket.  It is easy to take off or put on over my PFD.  I got a fairly generic one that wasn't as badly priced as REI etc.
