Monkeyface, May at Johnsons beach is a good time to start looking for shad.  Last year sucked for shad so hopefully this years going to be better. Call Kings Sporting Goods in G-ville for updated reports.  As for the pics, I've been slacking....Sorry fellas.  Just imagine some dude with a cheese eating grin holding up a beautiful looking steelhead on a sunny day. :smt003.  I floated yesterday but got nothing but little guys. Saw only one drift boat all day, and they had a 8-10lbs. Not fresh and a little beat up. Overall a great day though. Good luck guys

Hey fish hunter... FYI:  My professional jurisdiction is limited to salt water.  I haven't even seen a river in five years--let alone fished one.  Hence my shad question.  (Oddly there were quite a few juvenile shad in SF Bay 2 years ago) As re: "up2the minute-secret JobRelated Intel" all you have to do is ask, bro. But be forewarned you may end up with way more info than you want on the subjects pertaining to gaper clams, pricklebacks, night smelt and "pogies." As re: California halibut, there aren't too many secrets at this point.  I could tell you where I've been seeing them but they are all the most frequently visited spots.  That said, I am going to go throw a hair raiser at the St. Francis Jetty for an hour... take that as a hint.
