I took to heart what everyone has been saying about photo's. So here they are:

The first one is of my camera in the otterbox. I told you I had one. It only comes out when it's not raining. The next three are of my bass boat. It' isn't a Triton, but works for me. Also, it's pretty scary when you have to "limit yourself" to only five rods. I actually like the Malibu over the Marauder when bass fishing because it's more stable and I can lay rods on the "deck". Don't give me any grief about the pfd. I hadn't launched the boat yet.

The other three were the two fish I caught. I was at Folsom Friday afternoon and everyone was catching. The first fish was a smallie around a pound on the LC Staycee. The other one was a solid 2+ lb spot on a Yum Dinger fished wacky. I had a bunch of misses on the rip bait (who'd think a fish can miss two treble hooks, but I think they were just bumping and slashing it, not actually trying to eat it). I also missed a couple on the wacky too. I saw a lot of 12" spots caught by others so I think that's what was tormenting me.

Go out to Beals Point, the water is right there, find 5-15' of water and rip, wacky, or drag roboworms in Oxblood or Aaron's magic and you will catch fish. Find the junkiest points with rocks and brush and you're in. You will feed gear to the rock gods too, but that's fishing. Hope to try again Sunday morning in the rain.

Tight lines!

Thanks for the report. I just might hit Folsom later today just to get on the water somewhere.

I fish from a Malibu XL also, may not be the quickest on the pond but stable and roomy.

Rob, how do you tell the difference between a largemouth and a spotted bass?

Nice report Rob... how much are they charging over there now? Have you ventured anywhere else on the lake? I'm thinking after this system passes I may hit up Rattlesnake or something.

Looks like you had fun.  Yup Folsom has some got some good size spots too.  And yes nice photos!

It' isn't a Triton, but works for me.

Get a OK Trident and your rod /tackle storage wont be a problem anymore.   :smt044 :smt044

Rob, how do you tell the difference between a largemouth and a spotted bass?

If you open my 1st link you can find in the pix of what a Largemouth and Spotted looks like.  Spotted bass have spots on the center side of their body from front to back of the tail while a largemouths don't.

Hojoman,

The easiest way to tell the difference is that the corner of a spots jaw stops in front of it's eye while a largemouth's mouth corner extends past it's eye.

Also, spots have teeth (like rough sandpaper) on it's tongue,

Freddie,

I always buy a pass which is $90 so I don't know what the day rate is but I think it's around $5.

Heading out this morning. Will post how it was later.

Tight lines.
