I will be dropping my wife off in the city at 8 so I will be able to get onto the water at about 9am.

Looking to chase halis at Oyster Pt.  Will be trolling dodgers/chovies.

Anyone else planning to get out this weekend?

My wife won't let me fish the bay alone so if I can't find anyone then I will be going to shadow cliffs and meet up with GB2.

No love huh? I already have plans, or else I'd be up for some halibut fishing.

A word of caution; the winds on Sat are forecast for 5-15 kts out of the west. My first ever saltwater kayak fishing experience was under the exact same conditions, at Oyster Point, this time last year. I found out the hard way that even a moderate west wind at Oyster Point makes life very difficult 'cos it's offshore and blows you out into the shipping lanes.  We had to paddle into it for 2h solid just to get back to the launch. It was scary for a while. ARW might be a better bet 'cos then you'll be blown onshore.

(apologies if you already know all this)

it can REALLY blow hard at op! i too have had an occasion where it was difficult paddle back to the harbor there.  you should be ok with a 5-15 forcast, but keep the wind in mind.

yeah i saw the winds a little last weekend.  the winds normally stay calm until the afternoon then things might kick up.  I plan to get off the water by 1pm, but earlier if the winds come up.

the trick is, as son as you fewl that first gust, pull up and head in...otherwise it's a needless paddlefest (and more dangerous)

Good luck, kinda early for flatties, I haven't heard any reports yet, but Yokomizo is supposed to call me today, so I'l report out on the board.
