Hi Yakers:

I need a dive buddy at VanDamm. VanDamm is a good spot
for low hanging Fruit. I'll show you where 8" Abs are  <5Ft Deep. Plates can be had on the Windward side of the S. Isl. but, >30 Ft. deep.Vandamme will be packed so, I'll be at Little River before the crack of Dawn.
Nubees are welcome but, should have some Salt under their Wetsuit. I'm Scuba Cert. and, will be taking a SpearFishing Class at Wallins for $100 3-1-09.

Hi SailFish:

I'll be staying at Duncan Place across from the Police Dept. with my Mon in Ft. Bragg. Look for a Silver Ford Windstar Van with a Green Scupper Classic Yak on top.

I really like Gordon Lane... lots of options and lots of abs.  I've dove there on an opening weekend and it was a much a zoo as anywhere else.

These places are bad at the beach but you can get out past the masses on your yak and find a place all to yourself. We went to the fort last year and went south to an area that is rockface drop off into the water. The nonyakers had no access. We found a huge hole in the kelp (close to 100 feet across) and dove on a submerged pinnacle. We got 6 fat abs and had noone around us. When we came back the shore launchers were still looking for abs by the cove.

Doah....I just received an email reminder for something that I have planned far in advance; way too far in advance to remember when I booked the campsite for opening evening. Looks like I will not be able to make it to the openning after all. Crap.

Since I have already reserved the campsite at Van Damme, what are some of my options; does anyone know?
