how old were you kids when they started fishing?

I got pictures of my son waving a flyrod in diapers in front of my house.... pretty much when he could hold a rod. 

i will try to scan and post this pic my dad took of me- i'm 4 or so, and hooked into a 5# steelhead....from San Gregorio Cr. Everytime i see that pic i smile- he looks like he wants to rip the rod out of my hands...

we're gonna be down near santa barbara in May, and i found a little lake that is loaded with blue gills...thought it might be perfect for Ava to watch dada fishing-- she's only two, so i doubt she can do much else but watch.  I remember actually fishing by the time i was 4, but can't recall if we went earlier...

any thoughts?

James was a bluegill and sunfish catching fool at 21 months. I handed him a rod with a 3 pound bass on it when he was 25 months, and he let go of it the third time the fish nearly pulled him into the lake Dad took a swim, and recovered the rod and the fish.
