Are there any hopt spots you guys know where this happens more then others, I havent had it happen but living in santa cruz, i hear it happens... The punks love this crap..

anyway, now that i bought a yak, i want to get a heads up on the hot spots for this type of crap..

I've fortunately been spared so far. However at one time or another I've seen the evidence (piles of auto glass) at every beach parking area from Nat Bridges to County Line.

I try not to drive too nice of a car to these spots, & never leave anything valuable in it while I'm gone. Stow any CD's, remove all electronics (FF cellph, etc). I got used to parking in SF where you never even leave spare change visible.

Yep, leave nothing visible in the car, even spare change or cigarettes. If you have to leave anything in the car, cover it up with towels or a blanket - the rattier, the better! Avoid parking in isolated areas whenever possible. Not perfect solutions but they do cut down the chances of break-ins.
