Can someone help this idiot learn to post pictures? :smt010

I've tried to post an avatar picture thru the profile edit function and it didn't take?

Someone said something about resizing it ?

Hows that done?

Is the same procedure done to post a picture in a forum thread?

I've looked at the "Adding pictures to your post " article by Bill but it's blank, whats up?

Thanks, Tad the Moron :smt013

Loading an avatar is much different from posting pictures.

If you don't already have it, go to the microsoft webite and download the picture resizer. Then select the picture and right click. The option to downsize the phote should be in the menu items.

To post pictures, open an account with one of the websites like photobucket.com/ . Once you upload an image from your HD, you can select the image code that you want to copy and paste in your post. To be sure that you are doing it correctly, you can preview your post prior to submitting it on the board.

Yo, Tad, I should be able to get you going.

Resizing is something I've always done because I experienced just what did.  I have a program that I use to edit my photos (cropping, adjust lighting, rotating...etc.).  There is an option for resizing the photo.  This means that you'll be changing the overall resolution in pixels.  Surprisingly, the picture quality doesn't seem to suffer much from the resizing.  Get your photo down to 600x800 pixels and it should "fit" in as your avatar or attachment on your reports.

Good luck.   :smt001

I resize my photo's by opening them with Paint, selecting Image, Stretch/Skew, then change the 100%'s to 40%. Next I rename the photo so it doesn't mess up the original.
