Fort ross area? north or south a bit is ok any place within 2-3 hours of the bay area. Some rockcod fishing would be great but anything else is better than not fishing.

Salt Point, Manchester KOA, Caspar Beach, Russian Gulch and McKerricher all come to mind. Some may require a little drive or hike for the better locales to rock fish . . .

Reef Campground just south of Fort Ross
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Yes.

There's also Navarro beach.  Good for camping with dogs and surf perch fishing out the mouth of the Navarro.  Rockfishing off the headlands to the north.

On navarro beach you do camp at sites on the beach.  At reef they have sites in the old redwood clumps along the creek that goes to the beach.

Sorry for the bad info I have camped there a few times with my dog but I was just looking at the site and no dogs allowed anywhere in the park but the Upper Parking lot at the Fort.

Quote
The Reef Campground is located 10 miles north of Jenner, California or two miles south of Fort Ross State Historic Park entrance. The Reef Campground is $15.00 per night per vehicle and $13 per night for seniors. The day use fee is $6.00 per car and $5.00 per car for seniors. No dogs are allowed either in the day  use area or the campground.  This is a first come, first served campground with 21 sites available. There is a walking trail between the Reef Campground and Fort Ross SHP. There are flushing toilets and water available. No hook ups. RV's have limited access due to road and turn around constraints. For information call (707) 847-3708 or 847-3286.
