Gonna hit Sly Park tomorrow only because it should be the worst conditions of the year thus far. Hopefully it will be snowing. Should be extremely windy. Rain will suck but I will still be there.
Anyone from the region interested? PM me. Not for the faint of heart or skills.
Doing it for the experience. If I catch a fish it will only be a bonus.

Tote, your nuts but I like it!! I was up your way last weekend. Stayed at Sorensens in Hope Valley. Mostly to explore the area and practice snowshoeing, a new adventure for me. I watched an old dude about my age catching rainbows left and right through two feet of ice at Red Lake. Brrrrr

Like you I've got a couple things up my sleeve involving lakes, snowshoeing, kayaks and (go ahead and laugh) camping in the snow that I want to try. Maybe only once but I need to do it. Been scoping out doable, safe, and vehicle accessable candidates for a trial run. Have you any interest in such foolishness? If so, give me a shout.

Let us hear how tomorrow goes. You've picked what is likely to be the most challenging weather day this year. It should be interesting and pretty. If the wind is up as predicted you may have trouble moving slow enough for a lazy half-frozen trout to even notice your offering much less chase after it. Cheers. Be safe and have fun. There are some things we just must do.

I heard the weather report this morning, Mountains are supposed to have gusts up to 100 MPH, bay area  gusts to 30, be careful out there.  Uncle Sam used to make me camp in the snow.  I hated it then, doubt I would like it a whole lot more now.  Be safe and if you remotely think you have hypothermia get some place warm!

You're my hero Mike. I don't know too many people that would willingly subject themselves to those conditions. Hope it turns out well. I look forward to your report and wild pics.
