Man it was cold yesterday morning! As I was driving to the lake, I noticed snow on the mountains and knew it was going to be a little chilly.

Met up with Fishinjay, Eric, his buddy and Al. I will let them report on their own success.

It was a slow day for me but I did manage to hook in to my first troll caught trout! A nice looking little 14 incher that was released back into the water to grow a couple more inches.

It was good to get out but it makes me really miss fishing in the big blue and the bendo that comes along with it.  :smt003

Tight lines!

Good to see you again, Russ and Jay...

Got there at 8:00 or so, but was way paranoid about the inspection, since the yaks were out in the rain all night.  The guy was cool as can be, though, and after some brief instructions to Jason, (future NCKA'er), and hooking him up with some rapalas and a radio, we started trolling around right off the launch where everyone else was.  But it seems goofy to wake up at the crack of dawn and pay to circle around other boats, plus J being a newbie I wanted to get away from the crowds.  Checked to make sure he was comfortable and everything kosher, it was...  he was loving it, and had soon paddled all the way to the dam, with me in pursuit...

It was a weird day...  The wind picked up something fierce a few times, saw some whitecaps, but then the sun would pop out and flat ass calm conditions... then back again.

Jason caught his first kayak fish, a bass, and hooked a trout that came unpopped.  No pics, because he was ahead of me...

Returning to the launch spoke with a power boater who was incredulous that we hadn't limited out...  Only 1 strike for me.  He had limited out right off the launch with power balls and was calling all his buddies.

Off the water at 4, really nice conditions, no other yakkers around.

Nice report, Guys.  Way to get Jason acquainted OTW.  I guess you were too busy being a kayak fisherman to hoard the good bait bite right by the launch.   :smt005  Well done - that's success.   :smt001

Sorry for the late update, couldn't find that darn camera cable to put up pictures.

I'll just say that it was cold in the morning, never rained (until off the water), and caught 3 small trout.  Nice to put faces to names and get out there and fish with some cool NCKA guys!

Heck yeah!  I'm down for a Fish&Chill there!  Especially interested in hunting bass there during the spawn!
