I'm wanting to go out tomorrow or Wed. just not sure where to go. I'm possibly looking for somewhere for a free launch if possible. Somewhere within an hour of Modesto and somewhere where I actually might have a decent day, lol. This is the time of the year I usually hit Don Pedro, since I usually just carry my yak down the hill of hwy 132, but the lake is waaaay down and thatd be a good 1/4 mile carry, lol. If anyone has any pointers or advice let me know!

jeff I hear mcclure is still good up at horseshoe.  a little bit longer of a drive than mcclure point or barretts.

alternatively you can try to fish the merced river below mcswain - its like a tiny lake and i did well there last time I was out.  turlock lake should also be holding some fish - you can get in at the inlet and launch for free

keep an eye on the weather - you might get soaked!

Can you give me info on the Merced River spot, I might hit that up, how big is it?
