I cant go, but I will tell you that lake McClure was recently (from about Dec 20 to last week) stocked with a crapload of very healthy brook trout (13-15 inches).
Patrick, myself and a couple other guys cleaned house there on Saturday using small spinners and 2" shad color crankbaits out by the dam (report later today ?)
definitely worth the $5 entry fee...

one caveat: overcast = lots of fish and sun = nothing going on...

good luck

nice job man...i was thinking about going out that way saturday but got too busy =(

btw jeff, the merced river was also stocked sh*t full of brookies - from what I hear there are a bunch in there and it is a free launch and a little shorter drive than going up the hill.

if you want more info on where to launch send me a pm or a call.
