A couple months ago I reported that on a trip to Del Valle I discovered that my favorite trout rod had a broken guide tip. This rod was the very first fishing rod I ever built and it has landed many a monster trout for me. With that kind of emotional attachment I couldn't just let the rod go.

So I decided to pimp it out with REC Recoil Guides and a proper butt wrap. Originally this rod had American Tackle cheapy guides and no but wrap at all. Here are the results:
