I'm planning to move from a single Scotty rod holder mounted in the center of my P13 to a Scotty 3 position mounting bar using the existing mount base.  Thus the base would be at 90 degrees to the mount bar.  The mount is bolted with luck nuts w/fender washers.

How strong will my mount be?

Can I troll off one side only w/out excessive torque to the mount or hull?

many thanks

I have the exact same set-up, SS fender washers and all, on my P13.  I don't have any problems with regards to trolling (I generally use light drag with the clicker on).  I am on the short side, so the set-up is a bit of a reach for me.

I have one I break out seasonally for trolling.  It is mounted as yours and is strong enough to put a downrigger on one side and a rod holder on the other.  After a couple of fiesty fish encounters, I noticed that it didn't stay locked down as securely as I liked, and can pop up and rotate at times.  I wound up epoxying the tripple holder to the base and it works great now.
