Had a decision to make this morning: ISE or fishing? I don't need anything, so fishing won.
Loaded up the truck and included some of the minnows left over from my port outing.

Arrived at Brown's Ravine around 10am. Wow! It's been months since I've been here and the water is low.
Launched from the bank well below the Hobie Ramp. Headed west and took a look at the old Mormon Island town
that's usually under water. Lots of people walking around there looking at the ruins. Hooked up a minnow and tossed some senkos around the structure. No love there. Headed farther west towards Dike 8. The dike is high and dry, but I did find some interesting structure I've never seen before. Looked like old mining tailings. Fished around there for a while and got no love. Trolled a Speedy Shiner back to the truck, no love. Off the water at 1:30pm.

Overall, the weather was great. Warm, no wind and flat water. The lake only had a dozen or so boats that I could see and they had a 5 mph limit. No PB pressure today. I did hear a few on the radio catching fish trolling in front of the dam.

View from the top of the Hobie ramp.

Mormon Island ruins. Sorry..the contrast sucks.

Mining tailings near dike 8.

The pond was nice and calm today.

Nice pix Alfredo. Do they still charge you to drive into there at Brown's Ravine? The water is looking scary low.

Freddie

Charged me the usual $5.
This lake is going to be in real sad shape if we don't get some rain and snow.

do you know how to get up where the river flows in (easily) when the lake is this low?

Pretty cool to get to see the structure that's usually under the water.  Too bad about the drought though - this sucks!   :smt009

Thanks for the report, Al.   :smt001

Folsom Lake is definitely a sad sight right now. I just flew over it about an hour ago and the couple next to me was commenting on "Pond Folsom" and how low it is. :smt009 I wish I had the camera handy for some pics. Anyways lets hope for at least a little water this year fill it up.

Thanks for the report!

I'm considering going back with my gps. Waypoints to the visible structures will be valuable when the water rises and covers them.
