Not much of a report, but  . . . .

The weather convinced me to bring my kayak with me to Tahoe this weekend.   I launched around 3:00 yesterday afternoon.  I trolled my lucky broken back rapala for abut 2.5 hours for not one bite.

The weather was awesome, especially for the dead of winter and it felt like I was the only one on the lake.

Once the sun went down, it got cold and dark fast   I made it back to the launch just after dark.

The lake looks awesome. We need more rain and snow. I met a guide at Tahoe who was camped at Lawsons Landing last week. He told me he used to fish right where you were trolling. He gave it up because the marina over by ski run was wiping out the fish due to overfishing by party boats. Think 6-pack boats on tahoe. Do you fish there much? After talking to him I thought that it would be cool to hook a big mac on the yak. Wait , that ryhmes. Thanks for the report. I would be willing to go try in the late spring.

Do you fish there much?

I usually try to fish Tahoe 3-4 times per year.   I have had some success, but usually don't expect much when I go out.

I have never tried fishing for Mac's yet, but it is on my to-do list.  I've heard Donner and Stampede are pretty decent.

Thanks,

Jason

Thanks for the Tahoe report - I'm heading up next month if there's snow...  Summer before last Tote hooked me up on how to catch a Mack and I brought a little 15"er to the boat, but it's no easy feat to land a fatty Mack.  I'll be on that quest at the end of July for the annual family week at South Lake.  Oh baby...   :smt001
