I also hit the water this morning with largies in mind.  But with the fog and outgoing tide, I had to feed my addiction and throw the spook.  I managed one 20"er on top.  Skunk aside, I commenced to hunting largemouth.  I started off with a big power worm for nada.  I finally got a smallish bass on my favorite jig.  A little later I got a good thump (jig) and landed a fatty estimated between 4-5 lbs.  A very slow presentation was best, but difficult to pull off after working baits for stripers.  I noticed the bass were on the bite after the fog lifted and the sun finally showed itself.

Way to go on the combo outing!  Nice work with the jig as well.  SLOW is the word.

Glad you got on the fish Kevin. I'm sure the cold is keeping them sluggish.

Awesome fish, Kevin.  Gettin em on the jig, especially when presentation is slow, is a challenge and takes patience.  Im usually not good with patience.  The water looked like glass, which I am sure helped a lot.

Thanks for the kind words, and yeah Jeff they are very sluggish.  The bigger fish felt like a snag until it finally realized it was hooked.

I was very happy to get a couple largemouth to the yak.  This time of year can be pretty skunky.  We can hook-up Stormscrambler, but your odds of getting something point worthy will be much greater in March/April when the prespawn and spawn is in full effect.  No problem either way.

Forgot to answer your question Jedmo, different water.   :smt001

It was nice to meet some of you fellow NCKAers at the ISE.  I only hung out for a minute, had to get back to the bass tank to catch Gary Dobyns' seminar!  For a bass freak like me it was pretty cool to be in the midst of Ish Monroe and Dobyns.....
