Have many of you ever simply anchord or tied up somewhere and tossed a light overboard and fished?  I've seen these water proof fishing lights advertised, and my buddy actually has one for when we go to up lake Shasta, camping for the week (with 12' alum boat in past) but we've never been sober enough at night to attempt trying to use the light!
I'm wondering how successful one might be on a kayak trying this. Just thinking out loud digitally here.

i've fished at night out of our old alum before, did pretty well with the trout and crappie using submersible lights.  now a lot of the lights they sell at like cabelas and bass pro shops are LED lights which do not get as hot and take less energy and supposedly give off more light.

fishing at night with lights does work.  i am planning to do it as it warms up.

you can also bass fish at night with a black light and fluorescent line - BIG BASS

just remember that at night time #1 priority should be your safety - other boats, alligators or lions may find you easier than you can find them.
