They sold out the divers for Salt Point. Didn't even bring it up.Powerboaters are concerned with one thing, fishing from powerboats.I honestly believe thatthey could give a shit about divers and kayakers( I have been on a boat at Dux and heard trash talk about bluekayaker before).

Can you elaborate on this?
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

I didn't see that at the San Rafael meetings. What I did see is that they knew they were not going to get all of it but were fighting pretty hard to get all that they could. What I did hear was unbelief at the apathy of the divers. DaleL and Sean fought pretty hard but they can't do it alone. I think if a lot of divers had showed wearing masks and snorkels carrying ab irons they could have made more of a impact. I thought that CS and NCKA did a good job of informing their members of how important these meetings were and what we had to lose. More than a few times at both of the SR meetings I heard CS guys saying where the hell are the Divers. The divers that have access to Sea Ranch got what they wanted.

I don't access any of the Dive Forums, how did they inform their members?? The guys from Coastside are pretty savvy and were willing to work with anyone for their support I just think the Divers and Kayakers didn't come to dinner and got left with the scraps.

$25 is a steal for the work they've done to keep fishing rights    Who knows what'll happen from here on out but it seems like a better thing to stick together on it

As for the fishing reports with certain fish (salmon halibut sturgies etc) if you can fish enough through the year you won't need that kind of help but if not it can be handy

Don't let a little trash talk sway your opinions about coastside or power boaters    Either of which could wind up being any kayaker's dream come true in certain circumstances

After I posted on coastside post San Rafael meetings in April08 I got some responses about you should have been there, no one got up to say anything about the proposed closure at Salt Point. Now I can understand this because most of the guys on Coastside are from the bay area not the north bay. I wish I had been aware thatthose meetings were happening because I would have taken the time off to attend and plead for Salt Point. I accept the fact that I was out of the loop and thats my own fault for not paying more attention. There are many people I could blame for being uninterested in the Salt Ponit closures. A person who works at Pinnacles dive Shop in Novato said he didn't care about Salt Point , that there are a lot of other places to dive. That is a fact. Yes there are many places to dive but nothing compaers on the sonoma coast to the nothern end of Salt Point. So  I think that most of the coastsiders dont care about Salt Point and they never will. Ther are such a large number of people who use that park that still don't know what might happen. As for bluekayak, dyde I saw you out there one day like4-5 years ago. Does that sound right? I was in awe of you out there trolling , trying to catch a salmon. Ever since then I have wanted to launch at Bolinas beach on a calm day and paddle out and try that. The day that I am talking about boats were going by, not slowing down and the radio chatter was"what the F does he think hes doing out here: what an idiot" Meanwhile I'm thinking, "I hope he catches one right now so I can watch this go down". Salt Point is my church and it might be gone and do you know what the real kicker is? No one really gives a shit. People are consigned once again to let the the government take more away from the taxpayer and the sportfisherman.

I most likely will join but its a wait and see deal. I actually replied to a CS thread last week about the general vibe of that board compared to this board. CS seems to be all inside jokes (mostly stupid gay jokes, what are we 12?) I was actually happy to get a reply directly from Bob Franko saying please come say hi to him at the ISE show. Which I thought was a great and classy move. So we'll see.....Hey, wait maybe its a set up to get my ass kicked at ISE.

Mike you are right. I am just repeating what was sid to me by some guys from cosatside about no one being there to plead Salt Point. They all wanted 2xa but were only after Dux.I probably did not pay as much attention as I should have about that meeting in April. It's all done now and I'm going to shut up now. :smt003I have a sturgeon to catch.
