I'll be launching at Coyote Point today after work (5:30PM) - this time last year, I caught a few stripers by the rockwall using my modified rattle trap. Company welcome / channel 69.

I'll have to take photos of it....the first time I used it was last year when SteveS took Mike / Sturgy, ChuckE and I to a trip to China Camp...I managed 7 (C&R) stripers and kept two keepers....it was my best day on the Bay = thanks to SteveS  :smt023

It's basically a red head with a white body rattle trap and I took the rear treble hook off and replaced it with a single rock cod white shrimp fly hook. I also used this at Oneil Forebay and did pretty good with it as well (trolling and casting)

...oh...I also added (crazy glue) some sparkle on the tail end of the lure  :smt002

The spoon is what I used in Mendo - caught my first mendo striper with it. I changed the factory treble hook into a single siwash gamagatsu hook....

SteveS doesn't kayak anymore

thanks to me?
I seem to recall that you were the one catching the fish!  If I remember correctly- its really thanks to that flyfisherman in the whaler that was nailing them cast after cast....

You'll notice that my go-to lure is now either a yozuri or a x-rap with nearly that very same tail, and half of my rattle traps have that tail as well.  Thanks to you, and ChuckE
