After a long aggravating and unsuccessful day in child support court, I have decided to go on a fishing binge. I need so quiet fresh air. I am going out today tomorrow, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not sure yet, today I am going to hit Woodward Reservoir to see if I can find one of them big elusive trout. I am thinking about hitting Lake Alpine this weekend or some other lower sierra lakes. I need something new to take this stress off my back

Jeff

UPDATE!

Wed evening. Going to launch at Mildred Island at about 4:30 pm and will propably fish until 7 pm or maybe later for some dark-thirty stripers

Friday evening, I plan on chasing some trout at Woodward Reservoir. If I do decently I may hit the lake again sat Morning.

Sunday morning - Lake Alpine trout. I want to hit the lake before the second gate is closed.

I was there on 11/25 Tues weather was overcast no rain. Launched out of Orwood Resort @ 830am made my way down the tract to Disco Bay. Trolled all the way down and worked all the coves on the troll for 6 largemouth biggest was 19" with a fat belly & 2 stripers 19" and 23" long all released.

Largemouth were caught on rattletraps & Rapala 6" firetiger lure hugging the docks on the troll. called it a day around 3pm. Caught the Stripers between 11/12pm.

Oh forgot to mention the PB'ers around me were boating Stripers in the 30" plus range all caught with live bluegill. All I had with me that day were trolling lures so no bluegills for me to use.

we plan on going out somewhere on Saturday.  I was thinking of launching at Wimpy's and working my way up lost slough, but plans are flexible...would enjoy another hookup, and some more lessons on those delta bass...

Wish I could go out with you Jeff, but I'm meeting up with the in laws this weekend.  If you're interested in fishing the Merced River below mcswain I think Russell (gatorjit) is heading out that way either sat/sun.  send me or him a pm if you want and i can give you some details.

Is that legal?

Good luck Jeff wherever you decide to go.  Sorry to hear about unsuccessful day in court - hope the fishing eases the pain.

Michael, live finfish (including bluegill) are legal for bait in the delta below the mossdale bridge.  technically live striper and black bass are too if they are of legal size and are included in your limit =)

salmon and trout are not however.

Sorry to hear about the tough day in court Jeff--I hope things eventually work out for you.

Good luck with your fishing this week.  I'll be heading to a couple delta spots this weekend myself.
