Got on the water a little later, about 4:45, went straight to my spot and started throwing a spook. Got a bunch of little blow ups, but it was clearly small largemouth. after the sun went down I turnd on my headlamp and trolled a Yozuri for 2 straight hours. I probably marked two fish that were clearly fish lol. Didnt mark any bait either. Water was 53.5 degrees. I think the fall striper run is just about done. I'm sure there are fish still roaming around, but not in my area tonight. I was off the water at about 7. Time to go chase the trout until the spring run is here. I have a video of throwing the spook for about 5 minutes. I will try and upload it shortly. Beautiful water, verrrry quiet, no boats other than a pack of jet skis that came flying by. Idiots in shorts, lol

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

I'm noticing a decline in the striper action too.  Been having to work hard for a couple of smallish fish lately.  Fun, but the adrenaline pumpers are getting scarce.  I was also thinking about pulling the trout gear out of mothballs for a while......

Hhhmmmm...where could they be?   :smt013

Sorry to hear about the tough bite out there.  Good luck on the trout the rest of the week.

I guess that is why we call it fishing most of the time rather than catching  :smt010! I was hopeful after speaking with you yesterday that I would read a report about your success...next time. It is still fun getting out there and roaming around, but yes, maybe it is time to pursue trout. Any ideas on where you may go?

Take Care Jeff,
Ray

Time to go chase the trout until the spring run is here.

Looks like your headed to Alpine?  Any holdovers left with the cessation of DFG plants?  I'd love to tag along sometime, but not this weekend.

There should be holdovers in there, last trip in may yielded some decent fish with one smaller holdover.

They're catching a lot of stripers in the Martinez area. Take a look at the fishing report in today's Chronicle. You can look it up on the web.

It ain't like you're getting much sympathy from me (who hasn't hit the Dirty D AT ALL) this year!! :smt005

Still, I must thank you for sharing your exploits this fall!! THANKS MAN!!!!! It's about time you find out there's other stuff around central CA! :smt002 ... when the going gets tough... (as if you even KNOW the meaning of that phrase)... :smt002

When are you heading our way (South Bay)? The "Idiots in Shorts" are gone (strictly wet-suit time) so it's just us and the fishies...Please show me how to get into the LM??!! :smt006 :smt044

Ken, Ive been wanting to get down to the South Bay lakes, just didn't really want to go alone. I want to go chase some big trout at Del Valle, last time I was there I fished with you, but I got skunked. But I am ready to try again!
