I thought my Sunday afternoon was a wipe-out but decided at the last minute to make a quick visit to Lafayette Reservoir.  Nice lake but they have a ridiculous rule about all boats being off the water by 3 pm.  With just 90 minutes of paddle time, I tied about eight feet of 4 lb leader behind two colors of lead core and hooked up an 18-inch rainbow just off the reeds in the southwest corner of the lake.  I'll try to post a photo once I figure out my wife's camera phone.  With the water cooling down this could be a good lake for East Bay yakers to hit without investing too much driving time.  Sure is pretty this time of year.

Thanks for the report. I have fond memories of bank fishing that reservoir with my buddies years ago. I may have to make a trip back there sometime with my yak!  :fish

I love that lake. I caught my personal best trout there about 10 years ago. The
fish was 26" long and about 6.5lbs. Thanks for the report fishinhank.
