Well, I ended up skipping Marin (and from what I've read on Coast Side, it sounds like not a bad decision) and went to Linda Mar instead. Some other kayakers (I think I recognized some faces from the pics here) were out as well. My friend and I, in the tandem, got a ling and a cab...slow but good enough for some chowder and tacos.

Hey Andrew it was good seeing you out there. I bumped into you right near the nipple then paddled off south in a green prowler.

I started off the day with Joel, Jason and Dave as we launched into 1' ankle slappers. I started trolling a WMA with an 8oz ball in the faint hope of a stray salmon. I was rewarded about 20 minutes later with a skinny 10 incher. Woohoo rainbow trout baby!! After releasing the beast we paddled around the point a bit and started a little RCG fun. Jason caught a 10lb ling on his first drop, I caught and released about a 25" ling, Joel caught a nice black and I think Dave had a ling as well.

After a bit we started moving back to the inside near some boilers, I caught a nice 28" ling which I decided to keep. No one else was catching much. Joel, Jason and I peeled off north and fished near rockaway. I landed another keeper ling, a decent copper and a legal cabezon (released). Joel C&R'ed a couple of cabs, Jason caught another ling and a copper as well.

We marked tons of bait in the cove but did not see any action at all. We saw a diver bring in a decent halibut as well.

It was great getting out and fishing what could be one last time for me being that it is Football season and my weekends will be filled with practice and scouting.  Bill, thanks again for the swim baits they are very sturdy and I will be keeping my fingers crossed that one of them will pull up my first cab.

Joel I can't wait to see those pics! send them to me if you get the chance.
