Thinking about fishing Rio Vista this weekend. Not familiar with the area, names of rivers and sloughs. Going to spend the weekend and Stockton and take a detour back home through the Rio Vista. Figure I launch and troll lures, take advantage of the awesome Rio Vista area I read so much about.

I will be fishing that day for sure so any company is welcome. Wouldn't mind tagging along with you other yakkers if you are fishing other areas near Rio Vista.

There are a couple of options depending on what kind of fishing you are looking for.  If you want to plug I would launch at Sherman Island.  For trolling you have a few marinas and state parks that will give you access.  Try to stop by a local bait and tackle and pick up this delta map.

This is a great tool and well worth the money.  It will show popular fishing areas and the launches to use for a specific area.  I picked one up at Hook Line and Sinker in Oakley.

Walmart has an EXCELLENT map of the delta for about $5. Waterproof and tearproof. It is made by the Fisn~n~Map Co.
I have all their maps of northern CA waters. Invaluable resource.
They are kept by the cash register in the sporting goods section.
