Folks, it's that time of year. I want to pick some Boletus, having missed out last year.

Problem is, I don't really know where to go other than Salt Point which is 3hrs each way. Plus everyone goes to Salt Point.

Would anyone be willing and able to point me in the direction of a Boletus-hunting location that is a little closer to San Francisco?

I realise such locations are precious so if you don't want to advertise them on here, no problem (you can send a pm!).

I also promise not to broadcast succesful hunting or to pick more than a couple.

(Really I just want to go hiking in the woods, but I'm not very good at that unless I have a purpose. Plus I love eating porcini.)
