CHUB and I were out on the delta Monday ALL day. We wraped it up at 10:30 PM.
Striper city!!!
This may be my new addiction. We did it Sunday and Monday and it was a blast.
Who would be down for night fishing from their kayak?
I am thinking until like 2AM.
I wanted to go tonight but my usual fishing bud ( CHUB ) couldn't make it.
Becky was going to go but taking her would be a trip I would NEVER live down.
Gotta be a diehard.
So who would be interested????
I want an idea so I know who to call whether it is a last minute thing or something planned ahead.
The wildlife is much better at night. With a decent light you can see a lot.
I saw my first mountain lion on the shore on Monday. River otter swam right up to the kayak, hawks and owls everywhere and fish jumping like crazy!!

Sounds like fun, can't do it this weekend though.  Too bad, the full moon will probably produce some killer topwater striper fishing.  Which region are you thinking about?  Keep me posted on any future plans..........

Thanks,

Kevin

Tote,
ill let you know the next time im planning to conduct some nocturnal ops. Im not that interested in the delta ,due to the comforts of my own backyard, but you know that you and CHUB are always welcome here in the haunts. I agree that everything comes to life at night, both natural and the unexplainable.
Last year during the lake county kayak tour we were out at night and way back in the trees under the canopy when something decided to kill something else. It wasnt quick and there was alot of thrashing through branches and into the water at times. Sounded similiar to a rabbit screaming. really added to the awesome creep factor of night fishing. A red lens on the head lamp helps preserve your nightvision that is so crucial when slinging topwater baits towards a wooded shoreline.
goodtimes

I just bought two headlamps today that include red lights. I borrowed Becky's and it was perfect for seeing around the kayak.
I also ordered some small battery operated nav lights; one red and one white that I can clip onto the kayak.

Costco has headlamps that have the red lens $20
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
