With a bit of encouragement from Dales report, I'd figured to give it a shot without a buoy and snare set-up.  This was my first time anchored for Sturgeon on a Yak.  Got on water @1420 and no fish bit till about an hour before shift change.  Didn't stay long after shift change @1620 with just couple fast tugs.

1.  First bit on Ghost and my first Green Sturgeon (28")
2.  Mount Diablo was there after shift changed.

The fish were jumping!

cool fish!
imho, you should fill out your sturgeon card, they have a spot for catch and release.  we would not want the dfg to think green sturgeon numbers are too low.  what do you guys think?

Nice sturg, check out the spines. First time I caught one of those I clamped my hand around its tail like a white sturg and my hand came back bleeding like a stuck pig.

Don't know for how deep for sure, but I'd say about 15-25 ft.  And yup I'd filled out my stamp card.

Looks like you were closer to the Rio Vista bridge than I,   Great pics perfect water,

I hooked up after only about 10 min in the water, you got one in a few hours, green shaker or not that's hot for sturgeon fishing,

I've only seen a few greens in my life,  cool catch.

Some one else get out there and tell us if it hot or not.
