Has any one used the Ram wedge mount for a Scotty base? An adapter to convert your Scotty rod holder to the Ram Mount system.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

The post adapter with the screw is the one I use. I thought that I would be going back and forth between scotty and ram mounts so I installed a flush scotty mount and put the adapter in it. The down side is that it isn't quick and easy to change back and forth and I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the scotty mount for the screw to go through.

If you're no longer using your scotty mount and want to convert it permanently to a ram mount, then I would go with the screw type. But, if you want to switch back and forth easily I would go with the wedge mount.

After using both I'd say that they're the same. The force that the wedges put out are exactly what their math implies. Plus, if you want the ease of changing it out quickly the wedge can't be beat.

I've been using the screw from the bottom type and hate the difficultiy reaching up inside the Yak to move location.  I also had to buy longer screws since the ones that came with it were to short.  With these types of quotes on the wedge style, I've got an order to place...should of started this thread myself a month ago...

Thanks Pat R for starting this thread.
