Looks like it could be real, Jim.  I think he Sniffered it quite a bit though.  Looks like about a 50 pounder.

I should've weighed this 45 incher that I found under Fernbridge in October '07 - it seemed like about mid 40's.  I should've done a Sniffer shot with it too.   This year I hope to make some big carcasses into movie stars!   :smt003

At first when I read the thread on Fishsniffer (http://www.fishsniffer.com/cgi-bin/forumsyabb/YaBB.pl?num=1225689394) I thought it looked photoshopped.  This newer picture looks a lot more believable.  This is definitely a big fish, the weight looks right to me.  I've handled live Chinook up to 70 lbs. when I was an observer up in Puget Sound, good luck handling a fish like that live!!  Amazing size to that fish, one of the biggest seen in all of CA in a while.

Hard to imagine him being able to stand so upright, in the water, with an 85 pound fish, don't you think?

hard to imagine him being able to hold it out infront of him-- notice arms are out of plane with body...but i do see that right hand creasing the fish....
