Hey guys,

Me and gatorjit are planning to hit the Delta this weekend for stripers.  Either planning to launch at tiki, whiskey or somewhere in that area.  Since we are both relatively new to the Delta we are also open for any ideas you folks may have.  Anyone else want to join in for some trolling/plugging and maybe bait fishin?

I'm going to be paddling my new boat, she's never even seen the water yet!

Hoping to launch around 7-8am.

jeff, you know the delta a lot better than we do so we're up to following any ideas you have.  I have heard of a decent bite in whiskey/mildred area.  But I don't know where would be the best launch for mildred.

Its close to tiki. I follow the levee down and launch across from mildred from an old abandoned dock. Its a bumpy dusty drive in but well worth it. If you want to give that a try just let me know. I want to launch maybe 530 or 6 am and troll the dark a little. Then throw topwater as the sun comes up. Then back to trolling and some plugging. Jeff

Good luck on Saturday guys. Jeff definitely knows his stuff so you ought to be able to find some fish.

Jeff - I would tag along but I think I am going to launch out of Pittsburg again. The usafishing.com report indicates that they are catching quite a few 12-20 lb. stripers on bullheads, mudsuckers, and fresh shad in the Broad Slough, Collinsville, and Honker Bay areas. I was thinking I would head to Broad Slough and drift some bullheads and see if I can hook into a sizable striper.

Have Fun!!!
Ray
