Hope the "United Kayak Anglers" had a good time, and saw more fish than I.

I got out this morning and soaked some bait, shad, bullheads, mudsuckers, for almost nothing. FAC all day.

Fishing for me and all the boats (lots of them) I could see around me was very slow compared to the last few weeks.

I got a couple of good runs (whole shad, whole mudsucker) that didn't stick long enough to feel how big they were, and 2 shakers on cut bait for 5 hrs on the water.  All day I saw one fish on a stringer and it looked undersized.

Maybe it was just me.

Ran into another yaker, Dan, he threw lures for hours and said he only got one shaker as well.

Perhaps they all went and got in line to be caught by the united group....one can only hope.

Sorry to hear about the tough bite...it was the same for us (United Kayak Anglers) on Sunday.  Maybe if the weather cools down again, the fish will feed more aggressively.  Keep posting, it is good info to have...

You got out on the water anyway - that's more than many of us got to do!   :smt001

howdy dale:
this is Dan from Sherman Island (aka "Fishinhank" for my uncle who got me into this obsession).  nice to meet you. . .this is my first norcal post.  As you said, lots of casting around but only one shaker.  I'm definitely heading out again this Saturday morning; I'm thinking maybe troll up the Sacramento and then drift down back on the edge of the channel to the entrance of Sherman Lake where I saw you.  Hope to see you again soon. Cheers, dp

a good day out, even if no fish were hooked. At least you hook'd&landed a future NCKA'r out there!....i was yaking there  last Nov. and a PB'r yelled out to me, "hey, I got one of those!, but need to get into it and catch some fish!" I then passed the NCKA word to him and he's a full time NCKA'r now.
Good work on spreading the joy&love of NCKA!.....karma will be paying you back in future fillets! :smt003
