First and foremost, my wife was a trooper :smt061 Alarm went off at 6:15 and she was up faster than me. Got things together, and she was real excitied to get out on the water. Got to lake about 8ish. The lake was like glass. You could not ask for anything better to help ot a wife on getting on the water. The lake is "REAL" low. Most of the pics are of the lake level and me next to the dam. Going through the tree's it felt like being in the Florida Everglades

In case you guys are wondering, here is a pic of Mrs. Rory. We stopped off and had lunch. On the way there her has her big find. She waqs able to get a fishing weight off a tree. Just as we were finishing  lunch the wind started to come up. And man, it did come up!!!!! I was afraid that the wife was going to loose it. But instead, she was laughing her ass off!!!! She was injoying it to the max. It was a little tricky, but she did good. I'm real proud of her and she is talking that next year, she is going to get her fishing lience and joining me for some Mendo fishing.  :smt044 On our way out, we stopped at the bottom of the boat launch and took a pic of a truck that was down at lake level. And on the way out, we took another pic looking at the lake. The last pics are of the burn area around the lake. And if you guys remember the store that "WAS" there, they are tearing it down. Pic of that also. OH FORGOT, marked a lot of fish, but nothing to report on the fish. But, will have to say, they were jumping EVERWHERE!!!!!!!! Wish I would have taken my fly rod. Oh well, had a great time with the wife. Tight lines to all.  :smt006

Rory good to see two on the water! Your wife might like Blue lake trout trolling, I heard they are going to start planting.

Nice pictures , wonder why the store was demolished ? They stopped the fire before it reached the store and other reports stated the store was untouched by the fire , maybe somebody was mistaken in earlier posts .

Thanks for the report on a very unique spot.   That's really cool that your wife got into it and wants to yak more.  :smt001

Seen some deer tracks, nothing in the way of pig tracks. Did not get to shore to much. Tried to fish as much as possible. Would like to get back there before too much rain happens.

I was camping at Blue Lake Campground on my deer hunt.  One afternoon I took my pole down to the lake and got a hit on every cast.  They were 16 to 20 inches long.  15 fish in an hour.  Non yak but still a blast.  From the bay area that is one long haul to get there.
