Well, the mornig started off very cool. Got on the water about 8 AM and it was flat calm except for a bass boat that had launched before us. Steam was even rolling off the water. With the water as low as it was, you would think you could not launch a boat, but they did. Later on "Pisciform" (Aaron) showed up. He traveled all the way fron S.F. His day started off bad just before he got there, but that is a story that I will let him tell. We marked a lot of fish, but just could not get them to bite. My son scored reall good. In the afternoon he caught a SMB, LMB and even a catfish!!!! The following pics are of my son with his LMB and catfish. The last pic is Aaron with the catfish he also caught. For me, well sence I caught "NOTHING"  :smt012 I had to buy ice cream for my son. But like I say, Kayaking is the fun part, and catching a fish in a bonus!!!  :smt044 Couldn't ask for a better day as far as the weather.

Rory-

Looks like you guys had awesome weather out there. Too bad the fish still have lock jaw. Fishing has been really tough on that lake lately. Good to see you boy caught the trifecta...

Way to go getting out with your son and documenting his good fortune too.  The Best of Times with the fam, and Aaron got a fish too.  Looks like a good day.   :smt001

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

you just documented and will be rewarded for your good deed. Looks like the wind was not a factor, but those STUPID starving fish ARE! :smt013
seem like the Kitties are the only smart ones looking for a meal.
Thanks for the pics&port.....the trifecta is a FEAT! :smt007

Sorry for taking so long to add to this report but Monday turned out to be a loooong day!

So um, the word is Mendo was supposed to be "ON" by now.
I guess someone didn't get the memo...

Since I missed BAM, I couldn't pass on the chance to get up there and the timing worked out right. With the wind not blowing and other conditions looking good, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for a day of mendo stripers.

I should have paid more attention to the signs.
First, I was ill-prepared and got a late start.
Then I smelled smoke while driving through Pacific Heights toward the GG Bridge and I'm thinking, Dang, these rich people don't even wait til it gets cold before they start up the fireplace.
Oops, I reach the top of the hill and Angel Island is on fire! Eery sight. Bad omen.
Get across the bridge & stop at the cheap Arco for gas (San Rafael?). Losing time...
Stop in Petaluma for minnows & lose more time there. Of course, had to make another stop for caffeine.
Get back on the road  & crank up the Clash for some good ol' driving music.
Everything went along just fine until....Oh Sh*%, CHP with radar as I'm gliding down the grade just before Ukiah.
Yea, I saw ya - I knew I'd been nabbed so I was practically pulled over before he even had a chance for the light show. I was doing eighty-what??? Oh well, actions & consequences...money & traffic school...

So, I finally get to the lake & see Rory's truck, thanks to NCKA stickers. Get everything ready & plug in fresh batteries for fish finder, but no go. Time to finish a small project & upgrade "ghetto-school" power supply to new school power supply.

Finally get on the water to meet up with Rory & son for a hearty welcome. The "kid" caught 2 LMB before I even got on the water, then a smallmouth (measuring somewhere between 16 & 20 inches!) and then the nice kitty in the photo.

Rory & I made our way back to where Kyle caught the catfish and a fat cat inhaled my minnow as I tried to retrieve my sandwich from the front hatch! It's the old standby - stop paying attention & the fish will bite.
It was no striper but it got the skunk off & I gave it to Rory for more kitty fritters!

So in the end no stripers were caught, but not for lack of effort. And the day was by no means a complete loss.
Good weather & good company made the day.

Oh yea, on the way home an idiot light (engine) came on. Now what? Stopped, checked, and everything seemed OK.
Today, of course, no idiot light...
