CHUB and I hit the Bay by the 580 bridge.
We picked up bait at Berkeley where the water was FAC.
By the time we got out it started blowing. With the wind going one direction and the tide going the other it made for quite a ride. The wind controlled our drift as the incoming tide was no match for it.
We headed towards Scott Peterson's house to get out of the wind and nasty conditions.
Tap tap zzzzzzzzzzzzzt. Took 15 minutes before I saw color.
I was hoping for a huge halibut but as I suspected, Stingray.
I did manage one undersized halibut after that and CHUB managed a small shark.
Got a hit from a smallish striper too. I know because after the hit he followed it all the way back to the kayak.
Danglin hailed us on CH 69 as he was driving over the 580. That was cool. Good talkin' to ya Don. I noticed you were w/o kayak tho.  :smt044
The wind died down on the outgo and it was calm for a while, then the wind picked up again.
No love on the outgo, but the jets flying overhead were amazing.

It sucked between the pier and bridge. Those sloppy water
pics were taken between the pier and bridge. It was way worse farther out. The ONLY place it was protected was in front of San Quentin aka Scott Peterson's house. That place should be turned into a 5 star hotel and move the current residents to someplace like Blythe.

the wind was coming from the NORTH, that's why it was so bad there, usually it's blowin from the southwest/west and it will be calmer on that side of bay.

dam WIND! :smt012

Tote... that flattie seems to be your big devil this year.  I hope you catch one.  I'm glad you guys at least were treated with an air show.

I bet your heart skipped a few beats when you hooked that ray.  At times, they can fight like a big'ol butt.

Did you have the wind at your back trying to chuck that Storm, or do you have some other secret?  You and Tote et al are seriously hardcore, talk about slop...

Tote-

I feel for you buddy. It looked as tough as it sounded out there. The wind this year has been brutal. I'm sure it'll calm down on Thursday... just to pick up again on Saturday. It's all good though... You'll get one sooner or later... I'm sure of it.
