Gorgeous Day,,,,,,,,,on the water at 8 off at 2, Stripers 17" 19" 20" as well as a bunch between 10" and 16" , on relatively light gear it was allot of fun. Kept the 19 for dinner. I didn't see anyone do any better, one boat had a 24" but only 1 fish for 3 guys.

Launched at Sandy Beach park, fished both sides and the middle of the main river, like I said fish were everywhere, however the biggest and the most came from my "spot", so in 4 outings that spot has produced at least one keeper every time. Used anchovies and shad , fish didn't care which, tried shallow, medium, and deep, while trying to get away from the small ones, mixed size fish were everywhere. All healthy looking fish.

Sightings today, a sea lion, a beaver, and an ity bity jelly fish, alive but probably not for long.

pic 1 17",
pic 2 had company
pic 3 it really was calmer than the pic looks,
pic 4 dinner 19"  yes, it was a long paddle back and he got a little dry.

I don't know much about hull design, but that ship threw off less wake than most of the PBs that passed by and it was moving along at a pretty good pace.  My experience with ships in the bay has been pretty much that, no problems with wake as long as you're at a decent distance, that ship was probably about 75 yards away, by the time the wake reached me it was pretty much nothing, suprising.

Maybe someone else can explain it.

On the other hand, tug boats are the worst.  Scary big wakes (IMO)

Another thing, on my last trip to ARW and yesterday in the delta I had several (most) PBs slow down and pass me at a No Wake speed, I was pleasantly surprised but felt kinda bad interrupting their passage since most PB boats (when up on a plane) don't throw out enough wake to do harm to me and the yak. Now if I could just do something about those Delta Cruisers....they put out a pretty scary wake too (especially in a narrow water way that they act like they own).
