Headed out to Cambria launched at 1130 and people were coming in bummed telling me that they got a goose egg. So I didnt plan on getting a limit or catching anything period but still wanted to get on the H2O. Paddled out to the kelp and the last few times I have worked shallow less then 45FOW and decided to try something different and put the GULP to work for once. It paid off marked some fish on the outside of the kelp in about 60FOW and marked some big markings so I droped down as soon as I set the bail it was on, pulled up this Beautiful monster Red 18 inch red what a fight that was on 10lb test spinning gear.

Hear is a pic of the days catch

Alot of blues hiting the bait but did get a few other assorted rockfish and one othe on the way out to the deeper stuff. Till next time.

RHYAK,

I see you got Ventura as a location. I have in laws down that way and make a few trips down every year. I'd love to hook up some time or pick you brain for launch locations and tips.

Way to go on the rockies and nice red.  Great report.   :smt001  I like how your hold on the big red mimicks your avatar photo.  It's FisHunteresque!   :smt002

Nice work.   :smt001

Ya that red looks bigger and there close in lenght a sand bass is just not nearly as thick. Plus its the only way to get a pic when your out there all alone.

Atown...I am heading to Morro Bay this weekend and gonna keep my fingers crossed that the weather will lay down so I can get out. Otherwise I'll troll around the harbor.

Any other suggestions?
