NO PBs, Kayak is the prefered method.....Spearfishing/Abalone Tourney, Hope to see you there.

Do you think the 3+ weeks of closure will lead to more fish for the Speros?

Current forcast is looking good with a low to moderate swell and a high pressure region developing over the area Thurday and Friday.

Check out the details in the link below....you spear a 29" ling in this competition it doesn't count.  Last years winning ab was just over 11".  I didn't do good in he competition last year, but I did do good in the raffle and it's alway cool to see some nice stringers come in.

Thanks for re-posting this, Abman.  I read through it and it sounds like an awesome event - challenging!  I wish I could be there - have fun, Man, and let us know how it goes.   :smt001

Lets see. If I drove up to bear harbor, no I would never make it back in time. Where in hell does a person find an 11in ab and make it back to Caspar before closing time?It would be really neat if everyone had to paddle out of Caspar cove to hunt and then return.Tote are you diving Caspar or somewhere else. I have dove Caspar but only the north point on the outside in 30+ft lots of abalone but nothing too huge.

Right on! I'm looking forward to it and am flexible on where to launch, but Casper Beach is easy and it makes the 1:30 return time a non-issue.
