Met up with shifty1 (Carl) today in the Delta.  The bite was a bit slow, but we managed to get a few in the boat.  The wind was pretty bad, the tide was low, and the weather was noticably cooler than several weeks ago.  I got a few small bass around a pound each.  Carl got a small one on the crankbait as well.  My only decent fish was this 2.2 pounder (pic 1).  Later in the morning, Carl got a solid bite from this 4 pound 2 ounce bass (pic 2).  I'll let him fill in the details.  We headed in around lunch time and called it an early day.  Carl, it was nice fishing with you today, we'll have to try it again sometime.

I'll be going out again in the morning, and may add more to the report tomorrow.

Nice fish, look like healthy bass. I haven't fished bass in a few years. Kind of addicted to the Big Blue . Thanks for the report, Kimo

Hobie Blue is da man. He knows the Delta and the structure very well and taught be a lot in a short time. When we started out I was throwing a crawdad Rattle trap and then a top water popper with no success, he already had 2 in the net, so Bryan loaned me a well used craw crank and that was the key. I caught the 4 pounder next to Hyacinth and thats where he headed for with me in tow. If it wasn't for Bryan and his net he would dragged me under.  The wind and inbound tide may boat positioning hard if not impossible. Bryan with his Hobie handled it well was able to position perfectly.I have to get a Hobie!

This was my first time in the Delta and I know its going to become a habit.
Thanks again Bryan for the great time.

Another great report of a quality NCKA hookup - it's a good kind of broken record with you, Bryan.  Nice work.   :smt001

Not much to report from Sunday...slow bite again, with six fish, nothing bigger than 2 pounds.  Waiting for some stripers to show up.  Should be soon.

Have a good week.

Way to go, Bryan and Carl.

Carl is spot on -  Bryan's the MAN on the delta, and can manage that hobie so well against wind and tide.    I fished delta with Bryan once and just couldnt manage my boat in position and fish at the same time, while he effortlessly worked all the spots with those peddles.    MAkes the Hobie a very tempting proposition.
